Let's Play Ball!

Cooperstown- (Sunday) A beautiful morning in upstate New York had the Thunder up against the Menomonee Falls Jr. Indians from Wisconsin.  A dramatic backdrop of blue sky, puffy white clouds and lush green foothills was stunning as the game got underway right at 8:30 with a perfect temperature of 67˚.
The DHYS boys matched the Jr. Indians for two innings with decent pitching and excellent fielding, including a spectacular leaping grab at second base by Kenny Andrews. The Thunder offense however, got out in order in the first and second frames.
With Ryan on the mound in the third, things got off to a great start with great plays by Mercer and Jarrett on the corners. The next batter hit a solid single and after falling behing 1-2 in the count, the second spot hitter put the ball over the fence to give the M.F. Indians a 2-0 lead.
No Thunder offense in the top of the fourth was followed by 4 Thunder errors in the bottom half, which led to a 4-0 lead for the Indians.  The fifth was no better for the Thunder, who had no hits and three more fielding errors, boosting the Indians lead to 7-0. Thunder batters went quietly in the sixth and the game was over in quick fashion.
Interesting stats and facts:
-Seven errors were committed by the Thunder
-Field of Dreams Park is beautiful!
-1862 miles logged so far
